About Chaingang

More than a club.
A family on two wheels.

Starting with just 4 members in 2016, Chaingang has grown into Nigeria's premier mountain biking community. We advance off-road cycling for fitness, promote fun, unity and camaraderie, and undertake projects that promote social good.

Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (RC 163297), we welcome riders of all levels, nationalities and walks of life.

Our Values

What drives us

As Fast as the Slowest

We abhor discrimination of any type. We carry one another along, on or off the trail.

Leave No Man Behind

Our commitment fosters family, comradeship and community growth on every ride.

Protect the Environment

We discourage littering and encourage climate action and responsible tourism.

Build the Community

Each year we commit to development projects that support communities along our trails.

The Chaingang Akara Stop

Ride. Regroup. Refuel. Connect. During many rides we pause for freshly prepared akara — Nigeria's beloved bean cake. Helmets off, bikes rested, stories exchanged.

It's not just about kilometres climbed. It's about friendships, laughter and the community we build along the way.

Regrouping Refuelling Camaraderie

More Than Akara

  • Opportunity for riders to come back together
  • Welcome food and hydration break
  • Rest and recovery before continuing
  • Conversations, laughter and friendship
  • Connecting with local vendors & communities
